Choosing the Right Sphynx Breeder
Now that you've learned about the wonderful Sphynx breed and considered whether one of these extraordinary cats is the right companion for you, the next important step is choosing a responsible, ethical and reputable breeder.
Welcoming a Sphynx kitten into your family is an exciting and emotional journey, but not all breeders share the same standards of care, commitment and responsibility. A beautiful kitten is only part of the picture. What truly matters is the love, dedication and care that goes into raising them from the very beginning.
At RiviaSphynx, we believe responsible breeding goes far beyond producing beautiful kittens. It means prioritising health through appropriate genetic testing and regular heart screening, providing a loving and stimulating home environment, ensuring kittens are properly socialised and prepared for their new families, and offering honest guidance and lifelong support.
A reputable breeder should always be transparent, happy to answer your questions and willing to provide evidence of health testing, including heart scan results. They should never rush you into making and a kitten’s welfare should always come before placement.
To help you make an informed and confident choice, we've put together this guide highlighting what to look for in a responsible Sphynx breeder, the important questions to ask and the warning signs you should never ignore.
Because choosing the right breeder isn’t just about finding your perfect kitten — it’s about giving that kitten the very best start in life and building a relationship founded on trust, care and a shared commitment to their lifelong wellbeing.
This is the RiviaSphynx way.
